Award-winning screenwriter and novelist
I've written seven screenplays (two originals and five adaptations) and one TV drama series. One has been produced, five have been optioned, and between them they have won six awards.
In 2007 I was commissioned to adapt Philip Pullman’s 1992 novel The Butterfly Tattoo as a feature film, directed by Phil Hawkins. It toured festivals in 2008, winning several awards (including Best Adaptation at the
New York Independent Film Festival), and reaching 75 on IMDb’s moviemeter, before a US/UK cinema and DVD release in 2009/10.

With Philip Pullman while developing the script for The Butterfly Tattoo
I've adapted On the Water by HM van den Brink as a feature film. Here's the first ten pages of the script, which was selected for rehearsed reading in the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum at the 2009 UK Screenwriters' festival, and placed fifth in the van Gogh awards at the Amsterdam Film Festival in 20i3
I have also written for radio (Grandmother's Footsteps, BBC Radio 4, 2006), and the stage, winning the Hydrae Prize for short drama in 2003 for The Enemy Within.
